To date, the unusual nationwide mid-decade redistricting battle has Republicans banking on picking up nine more seats in these states: Texas, Missouri, North Carolina, and Ohio. But Democrats too think they stand to gain and predict six more sates from California and Utah. Litigation continues in some states, which could negate gains, and of course there is never any guarantee of picking up a seat just from drawing lines differently.
Florida is poised to get in on new maps, as GOP Governor Ron DeSantis announced a special session to redraw the lines in his state in April. Currently, 20 of the 28 congressional seats in Florida are held by Republicans.
