What Is AMAC Action?
Welcome to AMAC Action Advocacy Training
Welcome to the AMAC Action Advocacy Training course.
This course was created to help AMAC members better understand the issues facing our country and learn how to become more confident, informed, and effective citizen advocates.
AMAC Action exists because public policy does not only affect Washington, D.C. It affects your retirement, your healthcare, your taxes, your family, your community, your children, and your grandchildren.
Too often, Americans feel frustrated by what they see happening in government but are unsure how to respond. AMAC Action helps turn that concern into constructive action.
Through grassroots advocacy, AMAC members can make their voices heard on the major issues shaping America’s future.
Who AMAC Action Represents
AMAC Action represents Americans age 50 and older who believe in constitutional government, personal liberty, free markets, faith, family, freedom, and the importance of civic responsibility.
AMAC Action serves as a voice for mature Americans in Washington, D.C., congressional districts, state legislatures, and local communities. Its work is designed to help members understand key policy issues and take action when their voices are needed.
AMAC Action does not simply speak for its members. It gives members a platform to speak for themselves and directly engage in the policy battles that matter most.
What AMAC Action Does
AMAC Action works to educate, activate, and organize conservative Americans age 50 and older.
This includes helping members:
- Understand major legislative and policy issues
- Contact elected officials
- Participate in calls-to-action
- Attend local meetings and events
- Build relationships with lawmakers and staff
- Advocate at the federal, state, and local levels
- Defend constitutional principles and traditional American values
AMAC Action’s volunteer advocates work to advance member influence in Washington, D.C., congressional districts, and state legislatures. The organization also serves as a resource for AMAC members, Congress, state leaders, and mature Americans throughout the nation.
Why Grassroots Advocacy Matters
Grassroots advocacy is the process of ordinary citizens speaking up and organizing around issues that matter to them.
In America’s constitutional system, elected officials are supposed to represent the people. That means constituent voices matter. A phone call, email, letter, meeting, or testimony from a real voter can help lawmakers understand how a policy affects the people they serve.
AMAC Action explains that citizen advocacy is critical to shaping state and federal policy because constituent participation carries influence with elected officials. Its grassroots network trains and empowers volunteers to become politically engaged and active in their communities.
The goal is not just to complain about problems. The goal is to communicate clearly, respectfully, and consistently so elected officials understand where citizens stand.
The Issues AMAC Action Works On
AMAC Action focuses on issues that affect seniors, families, taxpayers, and future generations.
These include:

AMAC Action’s Approach
AMAC Action’s approach is built around informed, respectful, and effective advocacy.
A good citizen advocate does not need to be a policy expert. But they should be prepared, accurate, respectful, and focused.
An effective advocate should be able to:
- Understand the issue
- Explain why it matters
- Identify who has the power to act
- Communicate clearly with elected officials
- Follow up consistently
- Encourage others to get involved
This course will help you build those skills one lesson at a time.
Why This Matters to Seniors
Americans age 50 and older have a unique and powerful role in public life.
They vote.
They pay taxes.
They care about retirement security.
They rely on healthcare systems.
They support families.
They volunteer in their communities.
They want a stronger country for their children and grandchildren.
The issues AMAC Action works on are not abstract. They affect everyday life.

Healthcare policy affects access to doctors and prescription drugs.
Inflation and federal spending affect household budgets.
