The Honorable Jen Kiggans
2nd Congressional District of Virginia
152 Cannon House Office Building
Washington, DC 20515
Dear Representative Kiggans,
On behalf of AMACAction, the advocacy affiliate of the Association of Mature American Citizens (AMAC)
with over 2 million members, including over 4,800 who reside in VA-02, I write to offer our support for
H.R. 1932, the Pay Our Troops Act of 2025.
The members of our armed forces have enough to worry about without concern for their paycheck.
These servicemembers have already volunteered to protect our nation at great sacrifice to the wellbeing
of their families, their own health at times, and their futures. We owe it to them to ensure their pay
continues uninterrupted by political processes so they can focus on their duties instead of financial
security.
When a service member is concerned about how they will care for their family due to pay insecurity, they
may consider leaving the service for more reliable employment, or worse, they may become distracted
and unfocused on their critical tasks.
Many AMAC members are Veterans who served and protected our nation in previous conflicts, and they
want to see their children and grandchildren live the American dream in a safe and secure nation.
Your bill ensures active and reserve servicemembers on active service, as well as any civilian personnel
who support them, continue to receive pay during a government shutdown. In doing so, this bill removes
a distraction for our men and women in uniform and any potential anxiety associated with it.
Thank you, Representative Kiggans, for your vision, leadership, and continued efforts to care for our
service members, and the general welfare of our country by advancing the Pay Our Troops Act of 2025.
Sincerely,
Andrew J. Mangione Jr.
Senior Vice President
